Rocking It Bald! - A hair raising event!

We had a great time at the Rocking It Bald fundraiser on Oct. 25, 2014.

Don’t miss the next event November 21, 2014 in Brampton. www.rockingitbald.com

The Oct 25, 2014 event at PK Creek in Mississauga, featured great performances by local bands, a silent auction and door prizes. The event raised $3,735 for Trillium Health Partners Foundation - Credit Valley Hospital - Cancer Services.

A big thank you to Angie of ROCKING IT BALD, who organized and ran the event. She also played in 2 of the bands that night!

The crowd favorite of the evening was the reunion of ‘Bare Rump’ an A/C D/C tribute band, where Angie plays lead guitarist. As you can see in the video!

Angie, the founder of ROCKING IT BALD was born with both visible and "hidden" congenital "birth defects", already had a story to share with others about overcoming obstacles in life.  Often bullied as a child and facing challenges presented by others, "Lefty" as she is known, never let anything stop her from what she wanted to do.

As a result of being stared at and facing challenges based on the opinion of others regarding what she could and could not do, she decided to form a band in which she played lead guitar.  This and subsequent bands were used as a vehicle to show others what one can achieve and that one should not judge others based on appearances.

On March 17, 2014, "Lefty" became a breast cancer survivor.

ROCKING IT BALD is about giving back to others through events such as fundraisers and motivational/inspirational speaking engagements. For more information, visit the website:  www.rockingitbald.com

The next "fun" fundraiser is November 21, 2014 in Brampton in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Tickets can be purchased through the website or at the door.

One of the bands playing that night is SECONDPASS.  A high energy hard rock band from Toronto.

You can find out more about them at: https://www.facebook.com/secondpassband/timeline
