Recently, I had the opportunity to get out on the water with Knot A Breast, the Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat team during their evening practise in Hamilton Harbour.
Okay - I forgot my practise gear.....but had a chance to see them in action from the safety boat. Thanks so much to Earl - our boat captain - for showing us the ropes! It was a beautiful night out on the water and awesome seeing the ladies in action!
These ladies are all amazing and work very hard - I can see why they are the current International Breast Cancer Survivor Champions.
If you would like to find out more about Knot A Breast and how you can join in on the fun - see their website at http://knotabreast.net
Thank you to the team for the warm welcome and I will see you all soon!

Recently we had the opportunity to paddle with the Mana’olana Pink Paddlers- Wow what a paddle!
Thank you to all members for braving the waves and allowing us to join them as they paddled in Maalaea Bay near Kihei, Maui. We were welcomed into the boat and made to feel right at home as we paddled in a Hawaiian double hull canoe on the Pacific Ocean for the very first time. What an awesome and tiring experience! Mahalo for your hospitality, and we hope to see you again soon.
The Mana’olana Pink Paddlers were started in 2006 by members of Maui Canoe Club and the Abreast-in-a-Boat dragon boat program here in Canada. Their original vision was to reach out to women breast cancer survivors in a gesture of support and recognition. Since then, in that same spirit, they have expanded their membership to include ALL cancer survivors and their supporters, regardless of age or gender.
For more information on either the Pink Paddlers or the Maui Canoe Club and how YOU too can join them for a paddle the next time you are in Maui , hint enter our win a trip to Maui contest, visit their websites:
